***********The Set-Up**********

I used two clip on lamps to light my scene.

One light placed behind the red vase so I could have it glow red/ orange color and, cast some color on the background.

One light placed on the side of the sunflower (rigthtg side) to illuminate the sunflower and cast a shadow from the sunflower for visual interest.

I placed a red vase behind the sunflower to add a splash of color to the image.
Interesting, the shadow from the sunflower picked up some of the red light refraction from the vase.

I then used a PS filter to create my swirl / whirlpool pattern in the center of the sunflower.
