Nana's Tulips *
by JaimeZX

My grandma's backyard; Edina, MN

My grandmother lives in Minneapolis. When I visted her recently, I spotted the sun shining down on these beautiful tulips (and a daffodil) in her backyard.

Sony DSC-F707
Applied a luminosity mask (my favorite!) and copied it. One I deleted the yellow part of the flowers, and applied a gaussian blur to everything else. The other I deleted everything but the yellow part of the flowers, increased saturation by 50% and increased contrast by 25%. Both were blended via "Multiply" and (about) 50%. Then I resized and cropped to a square.

Original: f/2.2 (for a shallower depth of field), 1/1000s, ISO-100. (Aperature priority) hide exif

JaimeZX, I really like this. (*)If the clarity of the flower group was a touch better, I think this would be a stunner. MFC
