Blaze, a true hero...

This is Blaze. He is one of 58 unsung heroes of the search and rescue effort after the 9/11 tragedy. He, like the others in his elite group, is a member of the K-9 division of our local fire department. Blaze has been specially trained in search and rescue in major disasters. He is 6 years old and has over 2 dozen successful live rescues in the last 18 months alone. Blaze was called to duty at ground zero soon after 9-11 and worked tirelessly for over two weeks to help in the rescue effort.
Blaze and his fellow K-9 members are true heroes and were recently recognized for their dedicated service on the six month anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy by vice president Dick Cheney. We, the citizens of this great land, salute you, Blaze and all those K-9s like you.
