At the risk of being zapped by a bolt from the photogods :), I'm going to slightly disagree with Ann and Mike. I like the color in this, given the topic of shadow, the shadow element here is more about the color of the shadow than any drama of form, thus the complements of airy blue shadow with orangey ball works for me. I'm not sure re topic the form of the ball doesn't take center stage, though. I tried to include the little microshadows of the ball's spike to punch up the shadow element, but they don't really stand out for me as an element. The texture is lovely, with the snow and frost on the ball. - Ro
Arra, this is well-composed. The frosted tips indicate to me that this toy may have remained quietly undisturbed in this position overnight. There are nice textural qualities that might look great in B&W, as Ann suggests. If you are able, maybe give it a try to see if you like it better. MFC
What I really like about this is the frost on the tips of the ball. I find the bright color a bit distracting though and wonder what this would look like in black and white. The shapes and design are cool and black and white would bring them out more. Ann C
