Bill, this photo should win other contest. It would be interesting to see how others will handle it(no pon intended). Great Shot.

Bill, I hate guns an I keep looking at this picture, this is a sign, It's so well executed, the depth, the composition, the guts of putting it there, you have an awesome pic buddy -- Kafrifelle (Yves P.)

Very creepy image Bill. And very fine! Ann (a Chaikin of Bellingham)

Beautiful image with great depth of field. It really jumps out at you! The color of the gun is perfect.
Guest 17-Feb-2002 11:58
Whoa!! What can one say, the image says it all. I instantly moved my face back from the screen after this image loaded on my monitor, but then couldn't stop examining the detail. Top marks!!

Love the DOF, the perspective...the subject matter creates an variety of emotions...keeps you staring at the nozzle and at the trigger...you got my attention. (debadguy)

Wow.... awesome image Bill ! Technically close to perfect, attention getting, what more can one ask? You've got an edge over me... I don't even have a gun. I'd like to see you work depth of field with a shotgun? :-)
Guest 13-Feb-2002 23:44
Bill, outstanding depth of field! Whether not its disturbing is irrelevant - its making a statement, and a powerful one. Nicely done. I hope you were using the timer or the remote :-) Jim/Shutter

Well Bill, you accomplished the "uncomfortable" feeling, but admittedly I'm biased (call me the gun-control freak if you like). It's a great image though!

I'd say you have splendidly achieved your objective. Erichocinc.

No worries! Took loaded rounds, pulled the bullets, dumped powder and primers, and then replaced the bullets. Still, it's the wrong end to be looking at! Which is what I was after, though. I was trying for an image that would make people uncomfortable, yet without being "gross". I was trying for the same thing with Ouch, but I've been told that one crosses the "gross" line!

Excellent shot (arrrggh)! Looks like the barrel needs a bit of cleaning oil.... this is a beautiful and very disturbing photo. The way you mounted the weapon, the monochrome, the depth, and the copper jackets of the bullets all add depth and realism... and I agree with others, it's a very disturbing image. Erichocinc.

I have to say...it's a great photo, but with my feelings on guns the only thing I could think of was the danger of photographing that end of a loaded weapon...even with the chamber disengaged. Laney

Awesome shot Bill. We'll see how the subject matter (as discussed in STF) affects the voting on this one! AVB
