Beautiful symmetrical composition and I love the colors and cloudy sky!

I really enjoy going over this photo to tally all the little things that break the overall symmetry here. Nice subject choice...well taken, jp! MFC

Thanks Jerry, Helen & Frank. This lighthouse does lend itself to Hopperesque images.
You got me, Frank, it's actually a Lego project I've been working on for years. ;)

The day I shot this I saw I met a wildlife photographer whose outstanding work I know from Flickr & while we chatted on the rocky shore behind the lighthouse, we saw a pack of otters, some Harbor seals, a few eagles & a mess of sea birds (all of which he identified in flight or floating 50+ yards offshore). This fellow spent almost 300 days out here in 2008, 2 - 6 hours a day. I plan to go back & learn some tricks, but I doubt I'll ever have his collection of gear, though. ;)

Classic shot! I love the how the small window on the right is placed on the side, while on the left it is placed in the front. Did you do that? :-)

Love the symmetry and lines here. Perfect sky for this as well. Nicely done!

Excellent image, jp!
The almost perfect symmetry is interrupted by just a few minor differences, which makes for a more interesting image, I think... just enough to keep the image from being too static. Very nice composition.
