Not Just Any Tile Roof!
by Helen Betts

Okinawa, Japan

This is a head-on view of a noborigama, or climbing kiln, in Yomitan. The kiln is level at the base but the body of it actually climbs up the side of a hill. To get an idea of what you are really seeing, please look here . My sincere thanks go to my husband, who braced me and prevented me from breaking my neck while leaning waaaay off a little outcrop to shoot this photo.

This is really beautiful. I'm a sucker for a good abstract especially if it has subtle color and interesting texture. This one has both. Good one Helen. Ann C

Wonderful color and pattern, Helen. At first I thought it was an ordinary tiled roof. I'm so glad you have a link to the larger view. You find the most interesting images. Thanks for sharing. Bev

Beautiful pattern created by this perspective, Helen...an awkward view to get, but rewarding to the "eyes". Nice one. MFC
