This is a really great picture.......makes me look at it, thru it and then glide along its curves....just very satisfying. Tim Brom

I have a spare desk of which I use half of as my tabletop studio. I have this old mylar (silver metallic) calendar which is 24 inches by 36 inches. It's crumpled and dented. I used the back side to form a seamless backdrop. I then turned on my two 13 watt OTT-LITEs which are supposed to be near daylight. Because of the crumples and dents the mylar gave off all kinds of reflections. The slinky is a dark charcoal gray one, almost black. It's oiled to give it a dull shine. It's not one of those shiny metallic slinky toys. I think one of the curves in the mylar allowed one end of the slinky to stay slightly off the surface so it looks like a slinky snail to me. I took a lot of photos, but this is one of the first ones. I adjusted levels and hue/saturation to add a slightly purple hue to parts of the slinky. It's almost a black and white photo, there's so little color. The 707 did the rest! Dee

Great photo, you made a slinky sensuous. Super in shape and composition and overall. - R.J.

Very creative concept, Dee! You've pulled off a really good one, and it has all the right stuff -focus, form, (re)flection! (Okay, I ran out of words beginning with 'f'!). Kudos, (and I hope you'll tell how you did it!)~Nee (rdavis)

if you hadn't included your name in the title i would claim it as my own. it is absolutely fabulous! i wish i had a slinky. and to think i gave my nephew one as a stocking stuffer at christmastime. i should have bought myself one too. love the contrast against the background. love the limited color palette. this is yet another photo that i myself would be proud of... now if only i had thought of it. - cUrVe

Wow, I don't know how you did this but it looks wonderful, I had to look at it large, then original. Superb, the shape and technique are very very good. - Shay
