Challenge 16: Portraits (hosted by Sarah)

"Portrait" definition: "A likeness of a person, especially one showing the face, created by an artist."

CATEGORIES: There are basically two categories — Eligible and Exhibition — but they are spread over three galleries for convenience.

GALLERIES Eligible Gallery – A photo taken during the challenge period with a Sony camera, and fitting the theme. Series Gallery – A series that consists of up to five photos, all taken during the same time, in the same photographic style. Each series is considered as one entry, and will be voted on as such. The separate gallery is only for easier viewing. For ineligible series, please include "Exhibition" in the title (note further comments within the gallery). Exhibition Gallery – A picture taken any time with any camera, that fits the challenge theme. Entrants in the exhibition category are not eligible to host the next challenge. Exhibition series may be posted here instead of the Series gallery, if preferred.

RULES FOR ENTRY Photos must fit the challenge theme. Formal, informal, or candid portraits are all allowed. Photo subjects must be human — no animals allowed, as tempting as that might be. No nudes or “indecent” glamour shots. I realize that these shots may or may not have artistic merit, but I will opt to avoid this controversy for this challenge. Number of entries: You can have three (3) entries per gallery, i.e. Eligible, Series and Exhibition. Each Series submission may comprise 2 to 5 images, counting as one entry. Challenge closes: May 10th at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time. Votes may then be cast at STF until May 12th at noon Pacific time.
