My cousin, Paul and his family were vacationing in the Colorado mountains, out from Chicago; Taylor and I drove up for an afternoon to meet them in Winter Park. The weather was cold and rainy, putting the kibosh on plans to try the alpine slide. So we took a drive over toward Granby, stopping at Snow Mountain Ranch to visit the old homestead there; a flock of enterprising hummingbirds tanking up at the feeder provided Ethan and Taylor with some welcome entertainment.
