Our second, and last day at the Reno air races. One aspect of the event I've given short shrift is the sort of carnival midway behind the grandstands. There are booths selling T-shirts and funnel cakes, aviation art and raffle tickets (where the prize is a flight in a T-6 during a heat race); Ford has put up a huge tent pavilion celebrating 100 years of flight. Inside, among the corporate marketing hoorah is this simulator of the Wright 1903 Flyer, complete with hip cradle to work the wing-warping controls. Stuart manages the underpowered contraption pretty well until an especially agressive tree springs up in his path. Apparently the program's authors didn't want any one pilot hogging the simulator for too long.
