The Four Corners Power Plant sits on Navajo lands 25 miles west of Farmington. It consumes up to 30,000 tons of coal a day from the nearby strip mine visible at bottom right. The plant is blamed for many environmental ills, but windsurfers enjoy plying the warm waters of the plant's cooling pond.
