Uncompaghre Peak dominates the skyline in this part of Colorado, a jumble of high ridges and deep valleys comprising the San Juan Mountains and the Big Blue Wilderness. We've been trying to decide where to end the day's flight: Telluride (on the far side of the high ridge to the left of Uncompaghre Peak in this shot) or Farmington, NM. Stuart makes a command decision: Farmington it will be. I've told him about Seņor Pepper's, a great Mexican restaurant right on the Farmington airport. We can almost taste the tamales with roasted red pepper sauce as we press on, motoring into the stiff headwind.
