After an hour spent fussing with the seating arrangements trying to get comfortable in the airplane--folding, taping and cutting foam sheets, re-stowing maps and rigging tools beneath Stuart's seat pad, finding a place to stow my shoes--we're finally ready to go. Stuart says it reminds him of the story of the Princess and the Pea. Our efforts are repaid: this leg is to be the longest of the trip, over five hours in the air in relative comfort, of which three hours and almost 200 miles are made with the engine shut down and the prop stowed, soaring. It won't be a cakewalk, however, as we shall see.
