The red door

This door intrigued me. The building, a small community hall, was probably built around the turn of the 20th century. The low cost of labour at that time is reflected in the level of detail in the trim; this detail of door trim would only be found in an upscale home today. Yet more recently, when they needed a railing on the step, they hammered a 1x6 to a fence post and painted it red.

very lovely shot-- great composition to show off the door, right down to the old concrete step and fragile yellow wildflowers ~V~
