Lofoten

A few photos from my recent trip to the Lofoten Islands in northern Norway.
One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, but my photographic output
on this trip was limited by temperamental weather and a lack of transport to
explore the islands fully. I will, of course, have to go back now! The scenery
here, coupled with my near obsession of the far north, makes these islands pretty
much my dream landscape made real. I can only begin to imagine how these islands
would look in differing weather conditions, different seasons, and in more remote areas.

So, this gallery is just a taster until I go back!

Finally, a nice gallery on Norway! I was beginning to lose hope ... am visiting in a couple of weeks, and the impression I get is that the lighting conditions are incredibly difficult. V

I went to the Lofoten Islands in summer 2001, and I fully agree with you, they are just spectacular. Weather on that time did look more no as merciless as the one you enjoyed ;-). looking fwd to the pictures of your trip back!
