Something a little bit different, but then Great Yarmouth, like it or not, is still part of Norfolk,
and was my home town for 11 years. For those who haven't heard of it, it is a faded seaside resort
and port, which is all but dead in regards to both tourism and port. It is home to many different
nationalities (it is said that 77 different languages are spoken there), and is a hotbed for drugs and
associated crime. Wandering the back streets on a dark afternoon with thunder and lightning around and
a cold drizzle falling, it looked almost unimaginably bleak and unwelcoming (it actually looks little
better in sunshine!). Hopefully the town's fortunes may improve a little with the construction of an
outer harbour, but in the meantime it remains staggeringly bleak and grim.
