I found myself on the beach the other night at 2am (as you do), and spent a gorgeous hour
or so wallowing in the peace and beauty of the night, with frosted sand crunching underfoot,
the moon sinking slowly in the west, the occasional meteor pinging across the sky, and a flask
of hot tea on the go… perfect! Until, that is, I had to wade into the cold water to rescue my
camera & tripod from the deceptively fast-incoming tide!
