Winterton Boat Sheds

Spent an hour or so chasing the stupendous skies all over east Norfolk this afternoon
trying to find something dramatic to put in the sky, but only finally managed to find
somewhere good about an hour after the sun had set.

Amazing what a difference the light on the middle buidling makes to the compo.

Tremendous shot Steve. Love the juxtaposition between the rich reds and oranges of sinking sun and afterglow, and the bright almost-white light on the shed wall - the latter really focusses the eye, the former wraps the whole photo up in warmth. Beautifully sharp silhouette too. Well worth all your dashing around!! V

Fabulous simple structures and stunning sunset colors. Hey, some of the best colors are after the sunsets, like this gorgeous shot.

I know that story all to well; Mother Nature is not a photographer. But you ended up with a wonderful image nonetheless. "V"

Good job Steve. I chuckled a bit at your experience as I have found myself in similar circumstance many times, driving like a madman trying to find something to put in the foreground of a sunrise/set shot.

Your chasing caught two light sources, artificial and natural, and between them you have turned the image of these boat sheds into something special.
