Spruce Grouse

I am not sure if this is a male Spruce Grouse. If someone knows the name of this bird, please drop me a comment. The bird was standing in the middle of a secondary highway and would not yield to my approaching vehicle. I stopped my vehicle a few feet away, rolled down my driver side window and shot.

Yes. Spruce Grouse (Falcipennis canadensis). Looks to be an almost adult male with traces of juvenal plumage still seen in the vent region.
