This was taken when the sun was almost at horizon. The hawk was sitting on the top of a 40 ft tree at Calgary's bird sanctuary. Even with the 300 +1.4 TC, about 50% of the image was cropped. The golden late sun light makes the hawk stands out against the relatively darker blue sky.
