Aigle pomarin/criard, Clanga pomarina/clanga

Estrecho de Gibraltar, E

« This could be one of the hybrids which have been wintering in the area for some years now. Shows features of both species and does not look like a typical individual of either species, which makes me think of a hybrid. However, one can never be certain with these. » Dick Forsman

"That it's not a clear bird as Dick says. It has many things for Lesser Spotted: head, commas, contrast in the feathers...and few things for Greater: shape and fingers. In Batumi, where you have hundreds of eagles everyday, I would say that this bird (without picture) would be a lesser spotted, but here at the Strait everything is possible and hybrid is an option.
So, said that, if I have to say something I would just say...I don't know..." Rafa Benjumea
