This guy was about 9-10' long. I had no idea that sucker would come after a dog. The alligator was swimming away from us, to the left of the screen, but as soon as he saw Mayday get into the water, he made a hard left and circled back around. I screamed out for the dog who thankfully u-turned himself. There was a two foot lip to our side of the ditch so I reached over and grabbed Mayday's collar as soon as I could reach it and yanked him out. I dragged him back up the hill and we immediately re-strapped him onto the leash.

We have let him off-leash in that area before with no issues, but we didn't realize it was alligator mating season. We saw four or five of them, and the day before Patrick saw more than that. Crazy.
