This C clamp type spring compressor is one that I inherited from my Grandfather.

It is older than I am...

...which puts it somewhere after when the Norsemen had farms and villages on Greenland, and before when Columbus rediscovered the New World.

It still works great. I still use it on my regular type cylinder heads, such as those for my small block chevys.

That white thing is a nylon adapter that allows me to use this old school tool on my SOHC cylinder heads, in order to reach in there for those recessed valve springs.
