to lower the muffler

This pic shows how I lowered the muffler about an inch and a half. I built an L bracket "spacer" that is attached at the stock location on the subframe. The L bracket has a piece of 3/8in rod that fits the rubber hanger.

The muffler is lowered 1.5in.

The dual U-bolt clamps are there to secure the muffler: to seal the exhaust in; to hold the muffler in place without rotation [because the tailpipe is very heavy]; and to do those things without crushing/deforming the pipes. Ted uses band clamps on his; and has had tailpipe droop regularly. His will be redone like this.
