This two-frame panorama was taken from the 500 ft bluffs overlook at Pikes Peak State Park in NE Iowa, where you can see the confluence of the Wisconsin River (coming from the east on the right side of the photo) and the Mighty Mississippi. In 1805, Zebulon Pike chose this site for a fort location. The government agreed on the area but decided to build the fort up the river a few miles in Praire du Chein, WI. Several years later Zebulon headed to Colorado and named the famous peak there.
