There were 6 cruise ships in port, including the Preposterous of the Seas (or something like that), in the background of the picture. The impact of these ships on the local economy is huge. One day you have a small island with a couple thousand people, the next there are 6 ships in port and 30,000 more people. This will eventually be the death of the Caribbean cruise industry in my view. It's no fun to be on a tiny island with so many people. Think about the impact on their infrastructure, sewer, water, and so on. Most of the small islands have very limited fresh water. Yet they continue to build ever larger ships.
