In the area between Maui and Molokai there are upwards of 10,000 Humpbacks during February. They come here to breed and to give birth each year. There are two northern populations. One comes to Maui and the other to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico to breed and calf. In summer they feed in northern waters near Alaska.
