Esa is a talented Inuit sculptor. He was taught traditional stone carving by his grandfather. He is in the south studying to be a plumber. He comes from the Canadian far north. Some people still call the Inuit Eskimos. Actually Eskimo is a bit of an insult. It is an Algonquin Indian word that means "eaters of raw fish", with the implication that they didn't know how to cook it. The early explorers asked the Algonquins who lived farther north and they said Eskimos.
