Originally built as a class of 145 tank engines for suburban service (see my Suburban Survivor shots for an unconverted engine), 3016 was one of 77 converted to a tender engines to service New South Wales extensive branch line network. It later acquired a super heated boiler, and was preserved by the ACT AHRS. It is currently out of service.
