gallery: The Jewish Cemetery in Josefov
A small, peaceful (except for the tourists) plot of land in the Josefov area. Memories of times past - and of a long-dead era in the city's history. Prague had a vibrant Jewish community for centuries, until WWII ended it all.
gallery: Mala Strana
Mala Strana - "the little quarter" - is one of the oldest parts of Prague, nestled below the bulk of Prague Castle.
gallery: Charles Bridge
If ever there was an obligatory sightseeing stop for the tourist in Prague, this is it!
gallery: Nove Mesto and the Wenceslas Square
Wenceslas Square, Vaclavske Namesti, is the main artery of central Prague. It lies in Nove Mesto, the New Town, and marks the southeastern end of the tourist area. It is quite big; long enough to have a subway station at either end.
gallery: Old Town Square
This large square forms one end of the obligatory tourist sightseeing trip through Prague. If you start here, go down Karlovo over the Charles Bridge, walk through Mala Strana and up to Prague Castle, you can pretty much call it a day and spend the rest of your holiday drinking Czech beer.
gallery: Stare Mesto, the Old Town
This is the historical centre of Prague, with winding medieval-style alleys. It is also a tourist trap par excellence, of course, with sky-high prices for just about anything.
