Laos

Well, I had big plans, big plans for seeing more of Laos than Vientiane and Luang Prabang. And, in a narrow sense, we did. We saw perhaps the second most horrible town in the world: Vang Vieng (for information on the most horrible town in the world, see the Viet Nam gallery for the discussion of Ha Long). But this was not what I had in mind. Anyway, it was my third visit to Laos, but only my second to LP. And on my first trip to LP, i was in such a mood. I refused to go to the temples. So this time I did. I really missed a lot. There are some very nice temples in Luang Prabang. It's gotten quite upscale and expensive since 2002. But, hey. Good for them.
