Please note the fact that there are almost no people in this photo, and it's Friday, the muslim holy day, so everyone is off work. It was about 2 pm, and it must have been 115, much hotter than any day since I've been here, but I foolishly thought I could just hang out downtown for a couple hours until my new speakers were delivered to Wafi City. I really think I was close to heat exhaustion. I bought three half liter bottles of water -- they cost about 30 cents a piece -- and chugged them down. And then I got in a cab and soaked its seat with my sweat. It really looked like I'd jumped into the gulf after about 2 hours in this heat.
