So I bought a small guide book outside a temple in Rajgir. This book had a map of each Indian state and a list of cities worth visiting. The Bihar page listed Ara, said it had "many ancient Jain temples." I have a well-known love of Jain temples so I went. It was a nice, small city with a beautiful old town. I saw a few temples, though they didn't strike me as particularly ancient. I was only there one full day, so maybe I just never saw them. I asked over and over. Finally saw a few on my last day before my train.
