Scuttle Fly, Megaselia aurea (Phoridae)

Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve, Prov. Pichincha, Ecuador

Scuttle flies are often associated with dead or dying organisms. This Megascelia aurea was one of many individuals that were feeding and laying eggs on a moribund Heterogomphus sp. rhinoceros beetle.
