This delightful Canyon is a hidden gem for certain.... the access road is located just south of Electric City and adjacent to the mystical beauty of Banks Lake... all within 10 miles of Grand Coulee Dam. A short jaunt up a forest service road deposits one at a gated trailhead. Two hikes leave from this delightful basin (think a Washington state Sedona... red rock pillars and hoodoos.... snow on the ground... sage, aspen, pine....truly a delightful environment on many counts)... The right fork hike will take you along the Old Wagon Road Trail (this trail is closed between November 15 and March 15 to protect fragile Eagle Nesting Habitat)... The left fork skirts along the Canyon Wall and leaves the road at an old homestead site. I'm still not entirely sure where the upper trail leads, as I ran out of daylight... but I will definitely be back to this scenic wonderland!
These images are really very nice indeed. Thanks for sharing this location Terri. I've covered a lot of that part of Washington State (I grew up in Oroville) but I have not yet discovered this beautiful canyon. It's now on my list. Chris
