I share a kitchen with several other people: a young married couple from Australia, a middle-aged man from England, and an Italian woman who works for a humanitarian aid agency. I enjoy opening the big windows while preparing breakfast, and watching the light change as the sun rises over the mountains which surround the city of Sana'a. I hear a rooster crowing nearby every morning --- an odd sound in a this large, bustling city.
