Another Windy DayWhile it was hard to watch Trey and Princess sit through snowstorms, freezing rain and deluges, the wind is worse. The wind has averaged 30km per day every day since about mid-April but what is unusual is the number of days with high gusts of wind that are making it very difficult for Trey and Princess to be able to stay on the eggs. If the weather were warmer, it wouldn't be a problem, but its still way below normal temperatures here for this time of the year. This sequence of photos shows how much Princess and Trey have to keep moving to find the right direction so they don't get blown off - and still you can see the wind blowing up their feathers.Peregrine Falcon Recovery Project (Manitoba) |
