A New CameraToday was the day to install the hardware for this year's new webcam. The last time that Princess and Trey nested on this ledge it was 2006, the first year for the CBC Manitoba/Shaw Falcon Cam and it was a static image refreshed every 30 seconds. Now that we have live-streaming, we couldn't go back to using what has become known as the "spycam" so Larry, the Project's intrepid Camera Guy has been working on acquiring new hardware that will talk to the CBC website software. Today was the day to get the hardware in place and we were fortunate enough to be able to install it closer to the nestledge, on a small roof on the back of the Hotel one floor above and about 50 feet away from the ledge. Because the camera has remote pan/zoom/tilt capabilities we will be able to get a very close image on the adults and eventually on the chicks!Peregrine Falcon Recovery Project (Manitoba) |
