April

Radisson Peregrines - April 2008

April began with Trey newly arrived from his winter travels escorting "the other male" from the Radisson Territory. Princess has had the company of this young male (one of 2005 sons I believe) for a wheek, but she has been downright dismissive of him. There was no confrontation between Trey and his "son" and the young male relocated to the West Winnipeg territory where he joined an, as yet, unidentified female. Princess and Trey meantime began working on this year's family, unfortunately not in the nice new nestbox on the west side of the Hotel, but rather the 13th floor nestledge on the east side. Their first egg was laid on April 19th, their second and third on 48 and 96 hours respectively after the first. Incubation began right on schedule with the laying of the third egg, good thing too as a snow/ice storm hit the same day! Incubation will last 28-33 days and only rarely will the parents let us see the eggs until they hatch.
