Chipping sparrow in winter plumage--note dark lores (between eye and beak) which are an extension forward of the dark eye line; light malar stripe with bordering darker mustache stripe above and lateral throat strip below, all of which curve around the bottom of the cheek and auriculars; clear breast; white eye ring which is somewhat interrupted by the dark eye line; drab bill color; long, strongly forked tail.
