Waders, Herons and Egrets
_SUE1800.jpgSanderling on South Gare beach, Redcar, North Yorkshire, UK. One of my favourite little waders - the speed they run across sand or through the breaking waves is amazing. It was such a treat to find a little flock more interested in feeding than me! |

_SUE2142.jpgSanderling - this shot taken when the sun went in and it was quite dark under a very ominous black cloud. I like the composition of the image, so edited and have included in this upload batch. I have to admit the image is more grainy than I would normally like, due to the higher ISO in the lower light. |
_SUE2169.jpg"Umph....who put that flippin' footprint there?"
I was tracking this little Sanderling as it ran across the sand looking for whatever it is Sanderlings find delicious, and it totally missed this footprint and went sprawling. It was pretty funny to see it jump up, dust itself off and carry on as if nothing happened. |
