The White Tank Mountains are home to one of Maricopa Counties several regional parks simply referred to as The White Tanks. For those that are unaware of what a "tank" is, it is a large rock indentation or some other geographic feature that holds water after a rain in the desert. In the White Tank Mountains, these tanks are a bright bleached white color resulting in he name of the White Tank Mountains.

The White Tank park is also home to an amazing set of Petroglyphs with some of them dating to over 5,000 years old.
