Grand Staircase : Escalante National Monument

Escalante National Monument, Utah

There was a saying the old Soviet Union (so they tell us in the West. I heard this on a trip to Poland several years back), that there is quality in quantity. This image is improved by this. There is something about looking at a Ultra large (>64MP) image and the detail it holds that is special. Compositionally, this image is average but it is so fun to see the trees in the far of mountains. Printed large, these images really do start to capture the grandeur of actually standing there.

I know what you mean - I just posted this image which is 40 inches by 9 inches and cant wait to see it in print. It is a 145meg file and once during shapening it was over 1 gig. Took for ever. Nice shot you have here. Here's mine:

Cool shot Steven. I agree with your thoughts on the composition, but you can easily tell that it is a very pixel dense photo.
