I decided to retreat from the heat for a day and did a nice hike with the dog to Horton Springs. This is one of the more popular AZ hikes since it is only about 2 hours outside of Phoenix, includes ample shade, and drinkable water at the spring head. And it is so cold and wonderful:-)

On this trip, I saw an abundance of butterflies and this is one of several shots that I took.
