Minotaur Launch from Vandenburg AFB

A Minotaur booster rocket launching a DARPA Streak Satellite into Polar orbit on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005 at approx. 19:26 PDT. Images taken from Mt. Wilson, CA overlooking the Los Angeles Basin. The brightest star underneath the contrail is Venus, the other star above center and to the right is Arcturus. The 15mm images were taken with a Sigma 15mm full frame fisheye and some were de-fished in photoshop using PtLens. The other shots were with a 17-40mm lens.
