Adult Male Indigo Bunting

While walking in the meadows we went past a grove of trees and heard a familiar 'tick, tick, tick'. We had seen this 'blue' bird previously but did not know what it was. We noticed that there was another adult in the area and the 2 birds were flitting about. We were shooting into the sun and it was hard to get a shot of this bird sitting still. The lower mandible looked white and seemed to shine in the sunlight.
We noticed a commotion in the underbrush and saw a tiny wee bird that must have just fledged as it was having a hard time flying from branch to branch. The wee bird was brown and white. It was very tiny and looked round and fluffy. It had 2 distinct feathers sticking out from his crown ..... we did not stay too long as we felt the birds were upset with our presence.
