I've noticed a lot of sunflowers growing amidst the hurricane ravaged areas near the beach. I think they're symbolic of the prevailing spirit of renewal.

We are at ground zero in the Pass and love your picture. I am planting "Katrina cantaloupe " seeds from the vounteer fruit last year. The sunflowers are blooming again now.

It is amazing to see these growing wild all over.I tried to grow sunflowers in my yard for years. They never bloomed but they are now blooming all over Waveland and Bay St. Louis.
Love the treatment V
Are you a local?

Surreal image! There are a lot here in N.O. too. Odd. In St Bernard they did not have mysterious Sunflowers, but watermelons... go figure.
