I came to this magnificent house once,
50 years ago, as a small boy.
It was owned then by Glasgow Corporation,
who used it as a holiday house for kids from
the city, to give them an experience of clean air and trees.
I have great memories of the this place...and the trees!
It was sold off to private owners, many years ago,
but the gardens and grounds are still open to visitors,
for a small donation to contribute to their upkeep.
