Slains Castle

Aberdeenshire

Bram Stoker allegedly, whilst staying locally, used it as the inspiration
to write Dracula. Samuel Johnson and James Boswell also stayed here.
It used to be owned by the Earl of Errol for centuries until
death duties forced it to be sold in 1916 and shortly after it fell into disrepair.
Now it is slated to be turned into holiday apartments.
It's not a place to wander about after dark as you would be almost certain to fall down the cliffs,
or the many surrounding gullies, into the sea!!

Must add that I have to wonder, after reading your information about the danger of this place after dark, how well this will work as holiday apts.!

Well composed shot Stewart ... the cut field and sky contrast each other nicely
